Smoother, softer skin free from unwanted hair

There are lots of people who are unhappy with excess body hair, or simply prefer a smoother, softer feel to their skin. However, shaving, waxing, tweezing or the use of depilatory creams to remove unwanted hair can be very tiresome. If you’re fed up with all the hassle, then laser hair removal is an ideal solution. Unlike all the other methods, laser hair doesn’t lead to ingrown hairs, stubble or unwanted regrowth. Laser hair removal offers a safe method of finally removing unwanted hair. It’s possible to use laser hair removal on almost any part of the body, and we have many patients, both women and men that have opted for this treatment. The most common areas that are treated with laser hair removal for men include the back, shoulders, chest, and face.

About this treatment

Background to the procedure

Laser light travels through the skin to the hair follicle. This light is absorbed by the pigment in hair, causing enough heat to damage the follicle and terminate hair growth.

The best candidates for laser hair removal are patients with light skin and dark coarse hair, though advancements in technology have allowed patients with virtually any hair colour to be successfully treated. Laser hair removal can be used on any part of the body leaving a silky smooth feel even on sensitive skin.

FAQs

How long does laser hair removal last?

Everyone responds differently to treatment, however laser hair removal provides long lasting results. While some individuals may see 100% reduction in hair growth, most people see anywhere from 70-90% reductions. Annual maintenance visits will ensure that the last bit of re-growth is eliminated, leaving you with smooth, hair-free skin year round.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Patients describe each pulse as feeling like the snapping of a rubber band against the skin and, whilst uncomfortable, is not painful.

What will my skin look like afterwards?

You may have some redness in the skin, this is completely normal and generally settles within 24 hours. Most people can get treated during their lunch time and there will be no visible indications of a treatment when they return to their office.
