Treatment FAQs
What is Tranexamic Acid?
Tranexamic Acid is a powerful ingredient known for its ability to inhibit melanin production and reduce pigmentation. Originally used in medical settings to control bleeding, it has proven highly effective in calming inflammation and regulating skin tone, particularly when used in professional-grade peels.
How does it target pigmentation and uneven skin tone
The TXA Peel works by interrupting the chemical signals that trigger melanin overproduction, helping to reduce dark patches and post-inflammatory marks. Whether pigmentation stems from sun damage, hormonal changes, or skin trauma, this peel offers targeted correction and long-lasting results.
Designed to exfoliate and revitalise the skin with minimal discomfort, the peel promotes cell turnover, revealing smoother and more radiant skin underneath. Its gentle formula suits various skin types and minimises downtime.
How many sessions will I need?
For optimal results with the Alumier MD TXA Peel, a course of 4 to 6 treatments is typically advised, spaced every 2 to 4 weeks depending on your skin type and goals. This gradual approach allows the skin to respond safely and effectively, especially when addressing concerns like pigmentation, melasma, or post-inflammatory discolouration. After the initial course, maintenance treatments every 6 to 8 weeks can help sustain the results long-term.
Who should avoid getting a TXA Peel?
While the TXA Peel is suitable for most skin types (including sensitive skin) there are some contraindications to be aware of:
Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should avoid this treatment.
Those with active skin infections, cold sores, or open wounds in the treatment area should postpone until fully healed.
If you’re using prescription retinoids or strong exfoliants, you may need to discontinue them temporarily before treatment – always consult your skincare professional first.
