What exactly is Microneedling?

Microneedling is an ever increasingly popular and safe skin renewal technique which restores the youthful, healthy appearance of your skin at a much lower cost compared to similar treatments and has almost no “downtime”.

It gives similar results to ablative techniques such as deep chemical peels, lasers and fraxel, and is therefore is less invasive and does not require the removal of the skin’s surface. Because of this, healing time is also shorter and there is less chance of post treatment sensitivity to UV light.

Microneedling is unique as one of the very few skin treatments suitable for treating all skins, such as fragile skin around the eyes, mouth, on the neck and on ethnic skins. The basic concept of microneedling is based on the skin’s natural ability to self repair when it is physically damaged by cuts, burns and other abrasions. Following injury to the skin, the body re-uses damaged collagen and elastin fibres to produce new structures. Microneedling gives way to controlled induction to the skin’s self-repair mode, by creating micro-injuries that instigate new collagen synthesis but does not pose a risk of permanent scarring.

Visable Results?

The results are brighter, tighter, rejuvenated and younger looking skin.  The recommended course of treatment is four to six sessions four to six weeks apart for optimum results- although you will begin to see improvement  after the first treatment.  Skin rejuvenation improves significantly following the course of treatments and can continue to improve for up to twelve months.

Microneedling works on what skin type?

Aging skin:

  • Restores tightness and firmness to flaccid skin.

  • Smoothes away and plumps wrinkles, lines and crows feet.

  • Improves skin texture

  • Reduces and improves appearance of large pores.

Scars:

  • Reduces appearance of acne scars.

  • Improves scars caused by chicken pox.

  • Relaxes old (scars)scarring.

  • Improves appearance of surgical scars.

What does microneedling do?

Microneedling treats many concerns. It does this in a number of ways, by creating tiny micro channels it allows us to introduce product into the skin far deeper than by applying it to the surface alone. Hyaluronic acid is one of the ingredients we often use during this treatment, Hyaluronic acid is produced by your own body as your skins natural moisturiser. The process of creating these micro channels in the skin causes what is referred to as a controlled wound. Your body’s response to this controlled wound is to stimulate the collagen within the skin.

Who can have microneedling done?

Most people will find that their skin can benefit from microneedling as it has a wide range of benefits. It rejuventates the skin beautifully, minimises lines and wrinkles and reduces the appearance of pitting as a result of acne scarring.

Is there any down time?

This depends to some extent on the sensitivity and general health of the skin. You may be a little red or blotchy after your treatment but this shouldn’t last any great length of time If there is a lot of dead skin build up then you may find your skin is feels a little dry and possible flakey for a day or two. This clears up quickly and your skin will look fabulous by approx day 3.

Does it hurt?

That depends very much on the depth of penetration. If the treatment is being done for just general rejuvenation then the dept of penetration is quite shallow so there is little or no discomfort at all. If we are treating deeper lines and wrinkles or pitted acne scars then it can feel a little more uncomfortable, but that is uncomfortable, not painful.

Add Meso Therapy to your Microneedling!

What meso microneedling is and how it blends microneedling with mesotherapy for enhanced skincare results.

Meso microneedling is a hybrid skincare treatment that combines microneedling, a process involving tiny needles that create micro-injuries in the skin, with mesotherapy, which delivers vitamins, peptides, and hydrating solutions directly into the skin’s deeper layers.

The microneedling device used typically features ultra-fine needles (usually 0.25mm to 1.0mm in depth), which puncture the outermost layer of skin just enough to trigger the skin’s natural healing response. But here’s where meso microneedling goes a step further: the microchannels created allow for the infusion of active ingredients, like hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and peptides, right where they’re most effective.

The concept originated in Europe and quickly gained popularity in medical aesthetics for addressing issues like:

  • Skin dullness

  • Dehydration

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Enlarged pores

  • Mild pigmentation

Because the treatment stimulates collagen production while delivering rejuvenating compounds, the effects can be both immediate and long-lasting.

It’s suitable for all skin types and tones, making it an accessible option for people seeking a non-invasive skin boost.

Add Exosomes to Microneedling!

Introducing Exosomes

Exosomes are nano-sized extracellular vesicles naturally released by cells. They function as messengers carrying proteins, peptides, growth factors, and genetic material—essential for cellular communication and repair. When applied in aesthetic treatments, exosomes help “wake up” inactive cells, enhance collagen production, and improve overall skin regeneration.

When the two approaches are combined, the microneedling process creates microchannels that allow for deeper penetration of an exosome-rich serum. The result is an enhanced treatment that can deliver noticeable skin improvements quickly.

The Science Behind the Treatment

Microneedling creates micro-injuries in the skin that signal the body to ramp up its healing process. This response naturally increases the production of collagen and elastin, essential proteins for maintaining skin structure and elasticity.

With the addition of exosomes, the microchannels become conduits for a concentrated cocktail of regenerative signals. Exosomes carry over 300 growth factors and bioactive molecules, far surpassing the regenerative signals delivered by conventional treatments like PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma). This combination not only accelerates healing but also enhances the quality and longevity of the skin’s rejuvenation.

Key Benefits

Microneedling with exosomes offers a comprehensive range of benefits that address many common skin concerns. Some of the most important include:

1. Enhanced Collagen and Elastin Production

The treatment significantly boosts the skin’s natural collagen and elastin levels, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and restoring a firmer, more youthful look.

2. Improved Skin Texture and Tone

By accelerating the renewal of skin cells, the procedure can smooth rough patches, reduce acne scarring, and even out skin tone for a brighter, more radiant complexion.

3. Reduced Signs of Aging

Exosomes deliver powerful growth factors that target visible signs of aging, such as sagging skin, uneven texture, and sun damage, helping you achieve a more youthful appearance.

4. Minimal Downtime

Because the procedure is non-invasive and uses controlled micro-injuries, patients can typically return to their regular activities within 24 to 48 hours. This is ideal for busy individuals looking for effective treatments without long recovery periods.

5. Safe and Effective for Most Skin Types

Microneedling with exosomes is suitable for a wide range of skin types and tones. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it especially beneficial for individuals with sensitive or acne-prone skin.

What is the cost?

  • A single treatment is €125

  • A course of 4 get 5th Free is €500

  • Microneedling with Meso Therapy €150
