HOW IT WORKS
The applicator uses multiple focused beams of ultrasound energy which allows the beams to pass through multiple layers. Individually, these beams have no effect on the skin or the layers beneath it. Unlike some non-invasive treatments which require a course of treatments over several months, HIFU generally only requires a single treatment. Results however vary from person to person. Occasionally a follow-up treatment may be required depending on your responsiveness to the procedure.The most noticeable results should be seen within the first 20 days following the treatment. Further improvements may be gained for up to six-months and results can last up to two years.
It is however important to keep in mind that the ideal candidate is a person with good skin elasticity in their 40s to 50s with mild to moderate skin sagging of the face, neck or eye area.
Patients outside this age group or with more compromised skin quality may still benefit from the treatment but would often require 2 or 3 treatments and should expect less dramatic outcomes. Follow up treatments depending on the area and tissue thickness shouldn’t be done sooner than 2 – 6 months post to original treatment with the recommendation of longer rather than shorter period between treatments, in order to give skin and tissue the full cycle of collagen stimulation and regrowth.
